The WEST BENGAL NEET MBBS COUNSELLING for Medical & Dental program is being conducted by The Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Government of West Bengal. Counseling will be conducted for the 85% Government & 100% Private Medical & Dental seats. There are 19 Government Medical College, 6 Private Medical College and 1 AIIMS. Counseling for AIIMS will be done through MCC only.
There are 3 rounds of WEST BENGAL NEET MBBS COUNSELLING process which includes “Round 1”, “Round 2” both getting conducted online and the third round is “Mop up” round also called as spot round or physical round, which is conducted offline.
If seats are still vacant after mop up then college round will be conducted, also known as “Stray round or College level round”
To participate in the WEST BENGAL NEET MBBS COUNSELLING process, students have to qualify NEET exam and then register themselves by login to its official website WBMCC.

In the first two years, students study the preclinical phase (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology), the next one – half years focus on principles and skills of paraclinical medicine (Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Clinical postings inwards, OPDs to begin here;) and the last 2 years of their course they learn laboratory Medicine [Community Medicine, Medicine and allied subjects: (Psychiatry, Dermatology), Obstetrics and Gynecologist; Peadiatrics, Surgery and allied subjects (Anesthesiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics);]. Each year is subdivided into two semesters, which means the student has a total of 9 semesters in the whole course.

But the real scenario is bit different. It is not easy to get an admission to Government Medical Colleges due to high cut-off score competition for admission is really too tough to crack. Overall approximately 2% student across the country actually gets an admission. More than 18 lakh student appear for NEET exam every year, but very few can actually fulfill their dream.
Another option available for those rest of the bulk students to get admission in the Private Medical College which is again tough situation for many.
